Conversations with Trees (2023), is a site specific multispecies collaboration. Comprising felt wrapping around and clustered vessels beneath the trees, with the aim of cultivating new polyvocal conversations about navigating the worlds that entwine us. Made from recycled felt, the objects invite non-human animal communities to take up residence. The sculpture focuses on the ecological entanglement between the artist, the audience, and the landscape. The feltwork was ephemeral, with a focus on mending and growing resilience with nature. Allowing the material to integrate back into the ecosystem, the sculpture composts new conversations. The interactive sculpture was part of Wollongong Sculpture Prize 2023 – Wollongong Botanic Gardens.
